Dairy of Nobuko Nobuhira

I parted ways with Soka Gakkai on May15, 1992. My husband and I joined Soka Gakkai on February 26, 1956, during the time of second President Toda, and from that day forward, my lengthy involvement with Soka Gakkai spanned a total of thirty-six years.
I believe that current denunciation of the individual named Daisaku Ikeda will be the epitome of all my Gakkai activities. I want to boldly confess the truth, of which I had never intended to speak for as long as I live. I had felt that being a woman and a mother with children were reasons enough to keep this locked within the very depths of my heart for my entire life. I had known that this confession of the truth would wound and sadden my beloved husband more than anyone else. Therefore, I had remained silent for son long. Yet, I parted ways with Soka Gakkai more than three years ago. I have calmly taken a hard look at Soka Gakkai, which has deviated from the path of Buddhism. However, this organization’s assault against Nichiren Shoshu through its publications and such, has gone overboard. I cannot believe my eyes. Is this the same organization in which, for the sake of the Gohonzon, I had once believed, and whose activities I had once earnestly promoted?

Furthermore, I learned that Soka Gakkai had recently produced the testimony of a person named Hiroe Clow, in which she claimed that Nichiren Shoshu’s High Priest Nikken paid for prostitutes in Seattle, USA, more than thirty years ago. These kinds of reports are unthinkable for a group which calls itself a religious body, and they were so cruel I wanted to avert my eyes. Whether these allegations are true or not is now being investigated by the courts, but the following thoughts occurred to me one after the other. “If it’s true, then what about Daisaku Ikeda?” “What in the world will he do about me?”

I was tormented over whether or not I should reveal to the world the truth about Soka Gakkai, nay, the truth about the man known as Daisaku Ikeda. I began to think that I should speak of my own experience in order to impart the truth to even just a single Gakkai member.

“Rely upon the Law. Do not rely upon a person.”
