Feb.22, 1996

Nobuko Nobuhira was born on May 29, 1927. She joined Soka Gakkai in 1956, together with her husband, who manages an electrical contracting firm in Hakodate. Since then, she has successively filled the key posts of Hakodate Zone Women’s Division Chief, Hakodate Jt. Territory Women’s Division Chief, Gakkai HQ Vice Women’s Division Chief and Hokkaido Jt. Territory Women’s Division Chief. Called a “shakubuku fiend” and “chairwoman of elections,” she is a leader from the early days of the Gakkai and has received numerous letters of commendations and commemorative items from the Gakkai HQ.

A resident of Hakodate, Hokkaido, Nobuko Nobuhira was a prominent leader who served as a Soka Gakkai Jt. Territory Vice Women’s Division Chief for seven years, until 1992. Nobuhira’s activities themselves could very well be called the history of the Hokkaido Soka Gakkai. This woman parted ways with the Gakkai, which has lost sight of its original path of faith, more than three years ago.
